Aw Chu Kin was a Chinese herbalist of the Emperor’s Court back in the 19th century. He departed China and went it alone, opening his very own medicine stall. It was here that he made a unique herbal ointment which people used to relieve a variety of aches and pains.

He died in 1908, leaving his thriving business to his two sons. They took their father’s Tiger Balm and over the years it became a raging success all across Asia.
